Emc 8 Fails To Run

casaserves2

Question

Having insatlled EMC 8 successfully and used it for a few days. It then failed to load double clicking the icon, I removed it and reinstalled with no apparent problems but when I try to open it days "invalid pointer" and after that fails to open. I done this a few time with same result. I then tried to reinstall EMC 7 and all I get is " _is5.tmp encountered a problem and needs to close. The number keeps increasing everytime I try. I am now in the situation that I have neither EMC 7 or 8. I need help but trying to contact Roxio is like trying to win the lottery. HELP

It may be a red herring but my troubles started after installing and using Nero 6 for a particular job. I have removed Nero but still in the same hole

Regards Campbell

Did you remember to uninstall Nero's packet writing program? It may not uninstall when you uninstalled the the rest of the Nero program or remember not to install Roxio's D2D? You may have to make sure that you get rid of everything in both the Roxio program and the Nero program and then re-install. First uninstall both, then use Windows Uninstaller clean up program.

Further to the previous report, after installing and trying to run the first message up is ComError, 80004003 after that it just fails to run with no message

Did all that, even visited the registry and made sure that all ahead and nero were removed. Have now managed to reinstal EMC7 but EMC 8 stillsays invalid pointer conError, 80004003. Thanks for ypur interest

I would suggest uninstalling 7 again, then running Roxizap which you can get from the support site.Maybe even run it a couple of times. This should get rid of Roxio references on your machine then try and install again.Again make sure that you don't install 2 packet writing software apps on your machine like sknis says.
