Installed 8.05 Update - Software Still Shows Build 800b85c

michaeltee

Question

As was previously mentioned by several users in a now closed thread...

Just installed the 8.05 update, but when I check About > Help the old version is still listed (Build 800B85C...NOT Build 805B30B).
I am having the exact same issue. If anyone has additional info or has been able to resolve this please post the solution here.

Just FYI, in my case EMC 8 is installed on partitian "D" (as is the case with several of my larger applications) and is a custom install (I opted to install some but not all of the components included in the EMC 8 suite). Based on my experience with previous EMC versions, neither of these things should prevent an update from being accepted. Anyway, everything is seems to be working properly but I'm definitelty showing Build 800B85C.

Any help appreciated :-)

And you got the build number from what location? The number from the home page is NOT the number you are looking for. Open VideoWave or My DVD and get the build number from there. Is it still 800?

Interesting. Did you download to (or copy to) and install on the d: drive?

Unfortunately I can't give you a definitive answer. Unlike the original CD-ROM, the 8.05 update installer doesn't offer a path option. That said, I tend to think it's finding the target since the installation runs smoothly and completes properly. I'll submit a tech-support ticket and see what Roxio has to say about it. Thanks for trying to help :)

Info on Roxio's support site suggested using Creator Classic to check the version number so that's what I did. I didn't install VideoWave/MyDVD... just Creator Classic, Music Disc Creator, DVD Audio Assistant, Easy Audio Capture and Sound Mixer all of which are still showing "800". Roxio's auto-updater has been launching frequently so I had assumed that at least one of these components needed an update.

Thanks,

-Mike
