joedq
Is there a forum for DVDit? I thought there was. I love the simplicity of MyDVD, but sometimes it is a little too simple. I have been editing with EMC 8 (I have Premier Pro, but again sometimes simpler is better) but would like to author my DVDs with DVDit Pro....I love that program but it has some quirks that I can't get past so thought I would read up on a DVDit forum and now I can't find it. Anyone have a link?
Patty
To my knowledge there isn't a DVDit forum. If you have a question go ahead and ask and maybe we can help you. Since this is the general chat area.

Since this is the general chat area. OK, I would like to spread out over my two monitors, is there a way to detach all the menus/pallets from just the one monitor? I have tried to use the preview feature on DVDit and unlike past versions I don't have a simulated remote to test with on the screen, I found that I could view the preview by pressing the escape key, but can't find how to exit the preview mode. I try to close it/end it and go back to the program and it just dings at me, eventually it crashes or I crash it with a CTL/ALT/DEL It has to be something simple so I was hoping to just read someone else's dumb question so I didn't look like the dummy

I have tried to use the preview feature on DVDit and unlike past versions I don't have a simulated remote to test with on the screen, Which version do you have? DVDit Pro 6 does have a simulated remote. I don't think you can separate the menus/pallets because they are child windows of the main application. Child windows have to stay within the main application window.
Patty
You can find some help here. Thanks Paul, I might just take a look at that site too. Looks like it might be informative.

Pat, it's been awhile since I've really looked at that site but it was not a place where answers came quick like this forum. It's probably that it's not that easy to find in the first place. Still, some of the answers I did get were very informative. I really enjoy DVDit but don't use it as much as MyDVD.
Patty
I am in the process of making a large project with v8 and I will tell you if I like it well enough not to use DVDit Pro. The one reason I haven't used DVDit Pro more is because you can put video and stills together as you can in videowave, and it is just too many steps to make it in videowave then make an avi and save it so it will be accepted in DVDit. I am eager to do this next project and see how it turns out and if the encoding is as good as v7 or 7.5. I will let you know. Back to the forum, most of the questions I had about DVDit Pro were answered by you guys, but it is nice to know that there is a forum out there. Thanks again. joedq
Thanks guys I got my answers in stead of just moving the windows inside the program you just stretch it out over two screens.... very cool. I am still doing something wrong with the simulation mode. All I get when trying to simulate it is audio which tells me that it is running, then I can hit Esc and the simulation is then full screen and anything I do I can't go back to DVDit without ending the program first. I'll ask on the other site (or just search it) Thanks again for the link
