Any Ideas?

Question

I'm converting VHS tapes to DivX, and using Disc Copier to burn them to DVD. When using EMC 7 to do this, it took approximately 1 to 2 hrs to perform this task. With EMC 8, I'm finding that it's taking Disc Copier approximately 5 hours to create the Image file, before burning. Is there something I am doing wrong? Or any way to speed this up? While the quality is better in EMC 8, the time difference is a bit frustrating.

System Info is:

Intel Pentium 4 2.4Mh

1 GB Memory

Windows XP SP2

Why are you converting the tapes to DivX if the final results is a DVD? You should be capturing to MPEG2. That way MyDVD would not have to render.

If you don't mind generic menus, try the video compilation tab in Disc Copier. It may convert DivX much faster.
