Question

Okay, first thanks to all who have helped in the past. Here is my current problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled emc8. Now I can open the emc8 home screen but nothing else will open when I click on it. I am run p4 2.4 1.5mb ram, 256 mb video card etc. I know my specs can handle this but why can't I open anything?

Uninstall it again, run Roxizap, and run the Microsoft Cleanup Utility. Reboot, and install again.

I am experiencing the same problem here but the other way around. I can access other functions through the start/mydvd and et al with the exception the HOME one. So I reinstalled it and still the same issues but to no avail.

Please advice

Noel

System:

AMD Athlon 2700

If you are having issues one way or another and

if you just want to blow all the Roxio products away (EMC7 & 8) then ?

you should do two things , one run Roxio Zap a few times and that will remove your version on EMC8 & 7 and all the other items in the install side , then run this free registry cleaner (DOWNLOAD HERE) be careful that it doesn't remove any other parts of program's you want.

then reboot and that should have remove all parts of the EMC range.......

Now try the install again and ?

1. make sure NO anti-virus is running.

2. You have service Pack 2 installed

3. that the Date is correct on the computer

4. that you have the updated Directx installed (from Here)

5. You have NO other packet writing software installed or running.

6. reboot between the install disk and the content disk

7. Some people have found they get less issues by copying the Disks to a folder on there Harddrive and installing from there.

8. good luck and have fun

If you have a plextor and you run roxizap it will remove all adaptec programs. plextor works with a program called oak simplicd and it has to operate with adaptec. be careful. but if you happen to run into this problem just uninstall yor plextor software and then reinstall it.

if your toshiba dvd drive is supported by any adaptec programs like oak technology, which your plextor is supported by this software, then you have to also uninstall and reinstall the software. check the software that came with your toshiba dvd drive. you can also click on start then my computor then right click on the toshiba drive icon then click on properties. the details tab should show the software symbol. in this case the oak symbol. I do know that oak is an adaptec program. the roxizap only affects adaptec programs. I had the same problem when I used roxizap. I also have a plextor external usb port burner and a pacific digital dvd burner. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the software that came with it. don't forget to reboot after each install. I hope this helps, I know how frustrating it can be.

I did that and for some reason or the other it also affected the registry.... So I had no choice but to reformat over the weekend and I am still reinstalling software.... LOL. Anyway, lessons learned ... the hard way.
