Emc 8 Instalation Problem

Question

my old computer which had emc 8 on it bit the dust so i purchased a new compter from dell.xps 400.

i am trying to install emc 8 on my new computer ans this is what i get.

 

internal error 2753

slm_dispatch.dll 3d53bff2_bcad_9cc4_c21c3_f657599

 

what can i do????

I've never seen this error before but it's likely your new Dell came with Sonic or similar software installed on it and while this may not be causing your error, it might cause a problem.

Please list what software is already installed on your system.

YES IWAS SUSPECTING THIS .. SONIC MY DVD CAME PREISTALLED ON MY COMPUTER...

 

I WILL TRY TO REMOVE THIS

It's specifically Sonic DLA that will clash with Drag to Disc. However, until the problem is resolved and since the version of Sonic preinstalled is not the 'full' version, you would do better to remove it.

OK I REMOVED SONIC DVD AND I AM STILL GETTING THE ERROR...

Ok, here's what you can try: go to C:\Program Files\Common Files and rename Roxio Shared to Roxio Shared.old. Then, reinstall EMC 8

Beerman rocks! I renamed both Roxio and Sonic folders, and it installed as planned. Been fighting this stupid thing for a couple of days now. Thanks much!
