Drive not detected - Please help

elsa_stockwells

Question

Hi. I have just got Roxio Easy Media Creator 10. At the bottom of the home page it states that no drive is detected. I have updated my directx, I cannot find details of my video card to update that driver.....

I have downloaded the following update patch, http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=4194, but still no joy. My system is Windows XP 2002.

Could anyone help please?

Mark, the program says she doesn't have a burner, not that she has a problem with her video card. Please read the post thoroughly and thoughfully before replying. You are confusing the issue with this reply. You may want to delete it.

Did you run the patch, after you downloaded it? Does your drive show in Device Manager?

Hi Bruce. Yes, I did run the patch after downloading it & yes, the drive shows as working properly in my device manager.

Thankyou for you advice so far, any more would be greatly appreciated.

Just as an afterthought, I was using Nero 7 until recently & just couldnt get on with it, so I made windows media player my default. Would this have any adverse affects? <_<

To find your video specs, open the Run window from the Start Menu. Enter dxdiag and click OK. From the pop-up window, select the Display tab. It will tell you what video card, manufacturer and driver date. Go to the manufacturer's web site and see if a newer driver is available.
