Question

i have a data dvd that i wrote using roxio, i'm having trouble reading it on my new computer, what version of creative suite wrote using UDF 2.01 ?? i want to install that version of creative suite and hopefully it will work so i can read the files.

i know they are all supposed to be backward compatible, but that's not the case here,

so which version wrote using UDF 2.01

Are you talking about Drag to Disc? Thank heavens it wasn't included in EMC 10. EMC 9 was the last version that included Drag to Disc.

If you use Creator Classic, you never have a problem reading the disc on any computer, now, or in the future.

I believe that EMC 9 used UDF 2.0 by default. I am not sure what EMC 10 uses.

XP’s Windows Explorer does have some support for UDF disks, which will allow you to read those produced by some third party software, such as Direct CD — but not all such software, and not even those from every version of Direct CD.

Flavors of UDF

While the UDF specification has never been explicit about it, all UDF revisions since 1.5 actually describe three different variations of the format. For lack of an official name from OSTA they are called flavors here.

These flavors are:

Plain (Random Read/Write Access). This is the original format supported in all UDF revisions

VAT (Incremental Writing). Used specifically for writing to CD-R and DVD-R (write-once) media

Spared (Limited Random Write Access). Used specifically for writing to CD-RW and DVD-RW (rewritable) media

UDF

IsoBuster 2.2, BD, HD DVD, DVD and CD data recovery software for Windows
