VideoWave problem

PapaDon

Question

I hope someone can help me. Everything was working fine. I was editing a project, adding photos, videos and audio. I even burned a dvd to see how it looked and it was fine. Today, I went to projectplaylist.com to download a song. I mistakenly hit the button to download an iTunes song. It started downloading a whole bunch of Apple software and started converting all of my audio files. I finally stopped it but now EMC 10 won't work. When I open up EMC 10 and click on VideoWave, I can open up my project. However, when I attempt to play in either Storyline of Timeline, only the music plays. I can see the photos but they don't play. I just get a black screen on the preview. I have uninstalled and reinstralled EMC 10 several times but still can't get it to work. I have spent the last 8 hours on this and have no idea. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Please give me an idea.

Hopefully you can use a Windows restore point to get back to before you hit that button.

Itunes should not have screwed up you video device but strange thngs have been known to happen. Re-install the drivers for that device - it would probably be a good idea to look for an update. If you have a stand alone card, most manufacturers want you to remove the old drivers before you install the new ones.

Post back after you tried these.

I thank you for the response. Today, I looked at it again. It turns out that somehow QuickTime had been installed on my computer during my goof up with iTunes. I uninstalled it and EMC 10 started working okay again. I have no idea what that has to do with EMC but it definitely screwed things up.

Interesting, do you remember what version of Quicktime it was? If you ever want to work with mov files, you will need Quicktime on your computer. Is it possible that Quicktime was made the default player for all the media files?

Since you got rid of it, these are probably esoteric questions.
