Back Up My P.c. Deluxe

Got the following Error message while trying to back up to DVD+RW. "Unable to apply the required backup software format to this media. Please insert another media to continue." However, I was able to complete the back up job to my 2nd hard drive. Any suggestions?

Sounds like that particular disc has a problem.Have you tried another or a different brand?I tried it and it formatted the disc before it wrote the project.You hadn't formatted that disc previously for Drag to Disc had you?

Using Maxell disc. Will try another disc and let you know if it works. Thanks.

And when you use the disc, DO NOT FORMAT IT. Use a BLANK blank, directly out of the box or off the spindle.

 

If you format it, it is formatted by the Packet-Writing program (in this case, Drag2Disc) and will call up the Packet-Writing program when you put it in, and won't work with any other program. If you want to use one of the RELIABLE programs, such as Classic Creator or BackUpmyPC, it won't work after it is formatted for Packet-Writing.

 

This is true of ALL Packet-Writing programs, including (but not limited to) Drag2Disc, DirectCD, Sonic's DLA, Nero's InCD. Also, Packet-Writing programs are proprietary, and if you format it for one of them, another Packet-Wring program is very unlikely to be able to read it - often even a different Version of the same program can't read it.
