TonyG
Well when i try and burn a 700mb sized avi file to a dvd it works and looks clear on my computer. But when played ona a dvd on a tv it looks distorted. Anyone know of a better way to burn movies so they look clearer?
tsantee
I'm uncertain what kind of distortion you're seeing. One difference of playing a DVD on a computer is the computer screen isn't interlaced so you see both the top and bottom fields as one (known as progressive scan). If the interlacing field order on a video DVD gets reversed then you would see jagged video around any action scenes. If that's what happened in your case you can go to the Toast Custom Encoder window and force the field order to be either top field or bottom field first. The problem is knowing which one it should be. If you have MPEG Streamclip you can open the file and use Streamclips stream info window where the field order gets reported.
