avi files crashing Toast

I used to be able to burn avi files to a disk, but a while ago Toast just started crashing whenever I tried to burn avi's (started about the time avi files quit working with QT). Even after I got QT to work with avi's again, they'd still crash Toast. Any ideas?

Maybe it is a conflict with a third party codec in one of your Library>Quicktime folders. Some users report crashes due to an Xvid codec and some to Perian. The current Perian works fine for me. You need Perian but if you read the info at Perian.org it replaces the need for several other codecs. So start your troubleshooting by cleaning out codecs.
