.dvr-ms Transformation To .mpg Hangs

For EMC8, I have recorded shows (MS Media Center 2005) that have no protection on them and when attempting to add movies to the app MyDVD or QuickDVD, they will tell me to transform the movie to .MPG format. When it starts transcoding from .dvr-ms to .MPG, it hangs immediately. Not windows, just the transformation. These files are still completely viewable in Media Center 2005, and even prior to starting the transformation; so they are not corrupt. It does not happen on all .dvr-ms files, just 1 in 5 will have this transcoding problem. These .dvr-ms files that can't be transcoded can't be transformed on a different machine (friend's PC) that also has EMC8.

 

Anybody have any ideas?

Type in .dvr-ms in the search box, and you should get many hits.

I am also seeing the same symtoms. I even let it run for 5 hours over night to be sure it was hung. I've only recorded one dvr-ms file but it does the same. For the response to a reply is that put .dvr-ms I dont see where that is stopping the conversion. If an answer/resolution to this problem is found I'd like to know the answer also.

No clue if mz4321f resolved his issue or not. He/she has not been back into the forums in a month.
