Narration and Background Music Volume

I am creating a DVD Presentation of our vacation to India. I have added background music but when I add narration, the background music is too loud and you cannot hear my voice very well. Is there a way to 'lower the volume' of the music during the portions of my video that have narration? I still want to have the background music occurring at the same time that I'm talking--I just don't want it to overpower what I am saying in the narration. If this is possible, how can I do it?

See this video to lower the volume of the music in corresponding to your narration. Select Add Audio in the Middle of a Video. The video shows how to lower the volume of the native audio track, but the technique is the same for lowering the volume of the background music.
