How to create a green screen effect

laswope

Question

Currently have Easy Media Creator 9.

How can I overlay two videos to create a special effect? For example.

1. Film the subject against a green screen.

2. Film the desired background (example: a blizzard out side)

Desired output would be:

Take the two videos and add them together to create a the appearance that the person is in the snow blizzard.

In EMC 9, I too, only see one color to change. In EMC 10, I get three.

Hi gpbruce,

I'm not sure what the differences are in the versions, but maybe I should add a caveat to my chroma key Tip/Trick post? I recall another poster mentioned that he only had one color also.

This is what I show from the Home panel About in my EMC 9:

Roxio Creator 9

Version: 9.0.610

Build: 906B10N, R04

(Purchased April '07 from Amazon)

Check out this great tutorial by karri.

The desired background will be on main track, and the subject will be an overlay.

Thanks for the info. The only problem is I'm only allowed to pick one color. In the tutorial it allows for multiple colors. I checked for updates on EMC9, but I'm current. Am I missing something.

What version do you have? Did you purchase it, or did it come with a computer or DVD burner?
