Hi, I purchased Easy Media Creator 10, why do's it not have DirectCD install in the program, I need to save my work to a CD or DVD or erase my work, how can I get DirectCD install on my computer alone with Creator 10?

Hello,

It seems common for people to use Direct CD/Drag to Disc on rewriteable discs, but did you know you can use Creator or the other writing programs on rewriteables too?

Creator [or 'mastering' programs in general] will work well on RW discs. You just keep writing to the disc in 'sessions' until it's full or you have finished with those files, then you erase the disc and start again. If you wish to keep some files but lose the rest, copy the useful files to your hard drive before you erase the disc.

This way your RW discs don't become useless when Direct CD/Drag to Disc isn't available.

Regards,

Brendon

DirectCD has been gone for a long time. The replacement program is Drag to Disc but even that is gone in EMC 10. Use Creator Classic to burn your information to a disc; it has the ability to burn multi-sessions.

EMC 10 was designed with Vista in mind and Vista has its own Packet Writing program. You can see if you can reinstall Direct CD on that computer. You'll need it to try to recover some of those discs.

Drag to Disc (the new name since Version 6 for Direct CD - uses "packet writing") was not included in EMC 10.

Windows Vista has a built in "Packet-Writing" (developed by Sonic) and EMC10 was brought out to work with Vista.

If you have XP, it has its own built in writing capabilities, or use the EMC 10 Creator Classic far more reliable.
