DVD playback - cutting off the edges

I wasn't sure how to search for this, so please advise on search terms if this has been discussed before.

 

I created a video montage with VideoWave and then output it as mpeg2 and went to myDVD to author it. I then burned it, and the menu screens look fine. When my video plays, though, it's cutting off the edges when it's played on a tv. It looks fine on the computer. It's cutting off some of the words on the title slides. Any ideas on how to correct? Not sure if it happened during the rendering from VideoWave or in the burning process....

 

Any help is much appreciated.

When you create your production in videowave, make sure you use the "TV Safe Zone" feature which will put a yellow rectangular shape around your pictures or videos in Videowave. This shows you exactly what will be seen on the TV when it is played back. You MUST make sure your text is within the limits since that will get cut off (as you've experienced). It is helpful to always keep TV Safe Zone "on" while editing and working in Videowave. As myguggi suggested, there are many tips on these boards that can help you with ways of getting around this problem!! Hope that helps.

What you are seeing is normal behaviour for video shown on a TV. Do a search in these forums for "Safe Zone" or Overscan and you will get several hits giving a description of the problem as well as solutions.
