Hi everyone, I am hopping someone can help. I recently installed EMC 9 and my system has been buggy ever since. It started with the dreaded Blue Screen of Death that would happen about 50% of the time I tried to start my computer. I tried everything I could to fix it, including running scandisk and defrag, going to a previous good configuration and following the procedures in the Clean Install thread (but I did NOT Reinstall EMC 9) but nothing helped. I have searched my Hard Drive for any remnants of Roxio or Sonic files and I have removed them all. But I STILL recieve the BSOD about 75% of the time I try to boot my system. And when I get my system to start, I get a "system recovered from a serious error" message from Microsoft and asks if I want to send the error report. After I do I, get a screen that say this:
Download updates for Roxio's UDF Reader (udfreadr.sys)
This problem was caused by Roxio's UDF Reader (udfreadr.sys). Roxio's UDF Reader (udfreadr.sys) was created by Roxio, Inc..
A solution is available that will solve this problem.
Solution - Go to the Roxio, Inc. website to learn more about the solution.
But when I looked on Roxio's website, there aren't ANY updates for EMC 9 (except for the Windows Vista update which does not apply to me).
Short of formatting my hard drive (which I am not willing to do right now because I just wiped my dirve about 3 months ago), is there anything I can do to get rid of the BSOD? It is getting to the point where I have to restart my computer 3 or 4 times before I can get past the BSOD and actually get to use my system.
Last, my custom built configuration:
AMD Athlon XP 2600 Chip
Asus A7N8X-X NVidia nForce 2 400 Motherboard
512 MB of RAM
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Video Card
Windows XP Pro w/Service Pack 2
Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite (retail box) which has been uninstalled and removed from the registry
IMHO Roxio seriously dropped the ball on EMC 9. I hope SOMEONE can help. Thanks in advance.
