VideoWave Crashes

Danielsen

Question

On the main menu bar in Videowave, select Tools then Options. You can run a graphics test to see if you graphics card is capable of running in hardware mode. You can also set which mode to use when rendering

When you select Burn in myDVD you get a window where you select whether to burn a) directly to a disc B) burn to a disc and to an image file (iso) or c) burn to an image file only.

An image file is a file that is created on your hard drive and is a "clone" of what will eventually be burned to the DVD. The advantage of first "burning" the iso file is that you do not create a coaster if something goes wrong with the burn. It is also easy to make copies of a DVD from the iso file

Excuse me, but I'm very new at all this, and not so good in English, but I hope, that I can get some help too.

I've just bought this product yesterday, and my Videowave.exe crashes - whether I try to burn a DVD or an ISO-file. I have tears in my eyes right now, cause I'm sad that I have spend so much money on this.

I have made a clean install of the product, I have updated my Direct X and I have a NVidea card that has all the newest updates. But maybe it's to old??

I ran the graphic test, but I don't know how to see if there's a problem. There was a black little screen which moved quickly. Is that right??

Oh I really hope some of you clever guys can help me.

I am running EMC 10 on an HP m8200n with an AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.00 GHZ, with NVIDEA graphics. Videowave and MyDVD appear to be crashing the system, resulting in the "blue screen of death." Computer diagnostics report an NVIDEA graphics driver fault as the cause of the crashes. I appear to have solved the problem by going into options menu for MyDVD and changing the rendering from "Hardware" to "Software." If you change this option in MyDVD, it also changes it for Videowave. With software rendering set in EMC 10, the crashes stopped.

I'm not clever and I have had my share of problems with Roxio, but here goes from what I have learned. Yes the black square that moves real fast is the test when it is done the upper left is 2 selections one is Hardware and the other is software, which ever one has the dot in the center is the better way for your computer to run the program.

You need to list your computer specs in your signature like it is in mine, so those who can help you can determine if your computer can run Roxio. Good luck.

Thank you for answering. Now I understand the test. I wasn't aware, that the programme was putting the dot..... :)

It says hardware here. But now I have done everything I can to make this s... work. I've done everything they ask me to do - I even formatted my pc yesterday, so there's only XP, Office, Adobe, Antivirus and Easy Media Creator on. And still Videowave crashed after a few procent.

Any new suggestions??
