Why Dat File?

tedmoores

Question

I trying to burn a FCP Movie converted to Mpeg 4 to a VideoCD using Toast 7.2. File is about 22 MB.

I want to play this CD on a PC. When I manually open the CD in a PC it has 4 folders.

CDI,SEGMENT,VCD,MPEGAV. Inside MPEGAV folder is the file "AVSEQO1 DAT file".

(This is not the name I have given it in Toast.)

When I click on this file it ask me what program I want to open it,(no auto open) I choose Windows Media player and it opens and plays the video w/audio.(as AVSEQO1)

Why is this file converting to DAT?

Why is the name changing?

Thanks,

Ted
