patw
I love Jewel Case Creator 4 Deluxe !!! But, i have a question that has been bothering me for a long time ! Why is it that when i create a CD, and then run Jewel Case Creator, one of my computers easily adds the 'Full Track Name' info, ( the actual song titles), while my other computer only lists them as Track 1 Track 2 etc. In fact even more puzzeling, is that the computer that now shows the actual song titles, many years ago it only listed track 1, track 2 etc also ( instead of the full track name). This is all being done offline, and not using CDDB. Both computers are not on line. I am wondering if there is a setting in Jewel Case Creator (or in the computer), that needs to be changed for the Jewel Case Creator program to see the actuall CD 'track names' ( instead of just listing Track 1 Track 2). This all occurrs after i have clicked on the Add CD Contents button. And i make SURE the disc is fully loaded and spun up. Still it is always the same. One computer always lists full track names, and the other only Track 1 Track 2. Oh, i forgot to mention that these are homemade CD's. Any assistance on this will be greatly appreciated ! Thanks..............
Princefan
Did anyone ever figure out an answer to this question? I too am having the same problem Thank you
lynn98109
In addition to creating the CD with the track data included, you need a player that can read it. One such is HACP, available here - http://www.xs4all.nl/~hneel/software.htm Lynn
Brendon
Did anyone ever figure out an answer to this question? I too am having the same problem Thank you Princefan, Last year's poster asked several different but inter-related questions, and none of them had anything to do with displaying track names in a player. What is the problem that you're having with 'Jewel Case Creator 4 Deluxe' ?? Regards, Brendon
Princefan
Well on 1I was able to read the cd-text when I pressed the CD Contents button. It would transfer the cd text into JCC. Now all of a sudden when I press cd contents it just shows New Title New Artist and "Track 01, Track 02" etc. Even though the disc was written in cd-text

Brendon
No, it works fine on my Jewel Case Creator in ECDC 4. I ran tests with CDs that had never been in my Win98 machine before but carried CD-Text. I disconnected from the Internet and tried the CDs in JCC, having JCC read the disc contents. Sure enough, the Artist and Track names showed up. Jewel Case Creator can't have got the data anywhere else but off the CD, so when working properly my version reads CD-Text. However that doesn't say why yours is not. What version of Jewel Case Creator are you running??
Princefan
I thought this was a weird thing to have happen. I am using 1.02. Is that the current version?
Brendon
The changes weren't big during the life of Easy CD Creator 4. I'm running 1.05(409) but as long as your Easy CD Creator version 4 is actually 4.05 [the final version] your Jewel Case Creator should be quite adequate. For this feature to work you need to have a drive which will read CD-Text. If your JCC used to do this job without fuss but has now stopped, then your drive must support CD-Text. However if you have never done this previously then you need to check the drive's capabilities before you assume the software has broken. If the feature was working properly before but has now broken, and you haven't changed the hardware, then you can safely assume something has been broken in the software - files or registry keys. The simplest and most reliable way to cure exotic software problems like this is actually to nuke the software and start again. An uninstall/reinstall is the minimum thing you should do. Far better is: - an uninstall [through the Control Panel Add/Remove menu], - a total cleanout [with Roxizap, or a manual clean uninstall. Roxizap is available HERE. ], - and then reinstall with as few other programs or processes running as possible. This will reinstall the software as it was and it should work properly, unless something else you've recently installed is actively interfering with it. If you need to confirm that a CD does have CD-Text embedded, use the H.A.C.P. player [above] that I told Lyn about. It is one of the few players which does display CD-Text.
