EMC 9 full version problem

chucklesbutt

Question

I purchased and installed EMC9 back in April of 07. I registered it after installation. After a period from 3 days to a week I get the message stating trial period expired. For 69.95 at B.Buy this is not a trial product. It's almost impossible to get resolution of problem via Roxann/CS. has anyone had this experience? This is getting very old having to uninstall and re-install when I need to use product.

Do you have Norton SystemWorks on your computer? Running the One Button Checkup deletes a necessary file in EMC 9. It happened to me in the Deluxe version but not in the regular version.

Which version do you have?

If your EMC9 shows this error after a registry clean there are three ways of getting the software working again.

1) import a previously exported copy of the broken registry key that you have saved somewhere handy (if you know what key to save).

2) uninstall and then reinstall the EMC9 software to recreate the missing key until you break it again.

3) send me a PM (use the PM button at the bottom left of this message) stating your problem and an email address, and I'll send you a simple repair.

These 'fixes' will not stop a robust registry cleaner from mistakenly removing the key again, although some cleaners can be instructed to ignore it.

They will also not remove the time limit from a trial copy of Roxio/Sonic software.

Regards,

Brendon

I do have the regular version and do have Norton Systemworks 2003(old old software) I have set up to run "One Button Checkup" on Fridays 5:00pm. I now realize I was able to use the EMC9 earlier in the day but ran into trouble after I had done the One Button Fixes. I will use this info and go from there. This aleast gives me something to investigate. Thank you for the input.

You can do what I did, and have WinDoctor ignore one of the ActiveX files it finds. I think that Brendon knows which one it is. I am not sure it is the same one that I ignore with EMC 10.
