Import Type: VOB (Video: MPEG-2, Audio: AC3)

Export Type: MOV (Video: Apple Intermediate Audio: AIFF)

The files are recorded from a 24P camera that burns directly to DVD disc. Toast 7 detects them as having a frame rate of 29.97 fps, even though they are actually 23.976 fps. When changing the export frame rate to 23.976 fps, the video comes out correctly yet the audio is out of sync. When selecting 29.97 fps, everything goes correctly, but my video contains duplicate frames which then adds to the file size.

Does Toast 8 fix this problem with NTSC Film files? Also, how does Toast 8 handle Dolby Dynamic Range, and files with Dolby Digital 5.1? Toast 7 seems to ignore DDR, and audio exports very low. Version 7 also seems to only encode to 2 channel or stereo audio. Is Toast 8 worth me updating to for my needs?

I don't know the answer. You could purchase online and if it doesn't work get a refund. My sense is you may be needing DVD Studio Pro, although it will require those files to be demuxed. Check with the DVD studio pro forum at discussions.apple.com or check with terryj in the Mac forum at videohelp.com.
