Loading an existing slide show

Question

I'm going around in circles. I think I know what I did wrong.

I built a Movie using VideoWave. I have it saved and I did make a copy on my Hd in Mpg format. Works great; but it is a rough copy as I want to do some more e.g. add a slide show.

I built a slide show using MyDvd. When I went to save it; I realized that I probably should have built the slide show from within my movie project and not a separate entity. Now when I try and merge the two finished projects together; it just seems that it won't happen as VideoWave does not allow the addition of Dmsd files; as that is the extension that MyDvd saved the slide show in.

Is there a work around for this screw up; or will I be forced to re-do my slide show. ( wouldn't be so bad; but I added text to most of the slides; all 102!!)

I used MyDvd; as I couldn't see how to add a slide show through VideoWave. What I forgot is that should have sent the movie to MyDvD and added the slide show that way. I therefore started from scratch; didn't go through VideoWave. Clicked on the Add Slide Show button; picked my photos and added text to the ones that I choose. Saved the file and that is where I am now.

This is what I have just tried and it appears that it may work. I started the other way around. I opened MyDvD and loaded the slide show that I saved. I then hit "Add New Movie" and choose the movie file. It's showing the "Slide" presentation and the "Movie" in the menu. I'm assuming that's the way it will play????

I guess I misunderstood what you were trying to do. I thought you were trying to integrate the slideshow into the movie. That cannot be done with a MyDVD file (dmsd) and Videowave file (dmsm).

However, you can have the two files on the menu as two separate buttons and program them to play one after the other, as you have discovered.

I am a little confused. How did you build the slideshow using MyDVD? The reason I ask is the slideshow wizard in MyDVD (clicking the Add Slideshow button) is a two step process which does not allow editing in Videowave nor does it allow adding text, yet you state you added text to 102 slides.

In general, however, you are correct in stating that you "should have built the slide show from within my movie project" in Videowave. That gives you the most flexibility. If you have a dmsd file, I know of no way to combine it with a Videowave file (dmsm) or MPEG file.

You create a slideshow in Videowave the same way you create a video - simply add photos instead of video to the panels in the storyboard. When you launch Videowave under "Add Contents" it states "Add Photo/Video". To Videowave there is basically no difference between a photo and a video. IN fact, there is really no such thing anymore as a slideshow in the old sense since you are just creating a movie using photos instead of video clips.
