videowave help

Question

I am doing a DVD for church for our Christmas program. I have taped 20 differant scenes of the kids. I am now transferring these scenes (they are 2-3 mintues long each) to the videowave program. I have transferred 15 of them. My question is... I see only 18 spots where I can install these clips. How can I get all 20 clips, plus a slide show of pictures of the kids, on this dvd? Can I Join 3-4 of the clips into one clip or must I install the 18 clips and then start a new production, then combine then both in MYDVD? Also what is the best way to get the slide show into this production? Any help I would appreciate. Thanks.

Ok. I've created my DVD file with videowave. I then went to Slideshow assistant and created my slideshow and added music. Now, I'm trying to add the slideshow to the videowave production. But, when I go to "my video" file, where the slideshow was saved, the only things showing up are 2 icons, one with a camera with only 145 kb of info and the other slidewhow icon with only 71.5kb. None of these have the slideshow production. What am I doing wrong? Did I need to create the slideshow in videowave or what? Thanks for any more help.

Yes, create the production in VideoWave. Forget about the Assistant.

Also, keep in mind that the file you save, in VideoWave, is not a movie file. It is a set of instructions telling the software what to do with the content that you have used to create your production.

If you are using VideoWave, and you should be, then as you add more clips, you will see more blank places to add more. When you open VideoWave, 18 blank spaces is all that you will see.

Thanks for the fast info!! What is the best way to add the picture slide production? Can I "drop" it into the videowave production? Thanks

In VideoWave, click on View, then click on Media Selector. Once it opens, go back to View, and select Dock Media Selector. That way, it is always docked to the right of everything on your screen.

Now, using Media Selector, browse to your videos, and just drag them down to the first empty "box" in Production Editor at the lower part of your screen.

ok, one more problem.... I've imported 20 2-3 minute videos, with their sound. then I imported 25 pictures after the videos, and trimmed them to the song I want to import, (Mary did you know) for exactly 3 mintues. But when I go to import the song, it will only let me 'tie' it to the first photo, or it will tie it to the beginning of the 1st video i've imported. I can't for the life get the song to tag to the 20 photos. How in the heck, do you do it? I've search this forum and played around with importing the audio file... Sorry to be a bug, but I';ve got to get this dvd done by this weekend for chruch. HELP!!
Sounds like you are adding the music to the internal track of the first image. In VideoWave, just go to the Timeline view and then add the music to any of the audio tracks other than the native audio track. Once you do that "grab" the start of the audio and move it to the image where you want it to start. Depending on the display time of the images, the music will either stop when the display time is reached or will end before all the images will be displayed.

You can change the image duration to get the music and images to end at the same time. Watch the applicable video about adding music to a video to see how to add and drag the audio.
