I'm using EMC10. When creating output MPEG-2 or DVD files, I know that VideoWave will do "smart encoding" and not re-encode parts of your project that are already in MPEG-2 (DVD) format. I can see this is true when it creates the MPEG-2 file because only the parts that are not already MPEG-2 get played in the video output window. This works great if my source file was from EMC10 already. However, I have other MPEG-2 files created by other programs, but when I use them in VideoWave, it DOES re-encode the file and there is noticable quality loss in the output.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything that can be done about it?
