Memorex DL media is not well supported with many drives. Still, the best chance of it working is to choose Save as Disc Image from the Toast File menu to make a copy of the source disc. Then burn that disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window. I made a backup of my OS install disc this way.

Thanks for the advice. It was the media. Bought Verbatim and was able to copy. However, very strange, when I try to use install disk #1, it won't boot. Then I press and hold power button and it reboots and mounts the copied install disk. If I try to quit the installation disk, I have to force eject of the backed up install disk by holding mouse button. However, I did copy.

Yes, they are dual layer though so you need to have a DL burner and decent DL media (most of it out there is poor quality).

John,

I have a brand new Mac Book Pro with burner (double layer) and used memorex DVD+R DL. It stops and poops about 45% of way through burn. Very odd error messages.
