Music Cut Out, and Now I can't burn

Bay Park

Question

I am so tired of dealing with this program. I have spent HOURS on getting it right, and first of all the music cuts out during the burned program, and now I can't even burn a program. I downloaded updates for my burner, which made things worse. I tried a system restore, which didn't help. I had Roxio 7, and upgraded to Roxio 10. I wish I had saved my money (and my sanity and time!!!!!)

1. Burn was ok and worked from Roxio My DVD. Skips in music - always in the same place on the DVD.

2. Downloaded recommended driver for Intel.

3. Burn stopped working.

4. Downloaded to file and burned from there.

5. Music still skipped. (It doesn't skip on Production.)

6. Did System Restore. (This all sounds so much quicker than it actually happened.)

7. Tried again to burn, even with skips. Doesn't work, even though it takes 20 minutes to get to the point where it says: Failed to start the image writing operation Error while Burning Image

80004003 Error while Aborting

Did Drag to Disk to at least get a copy of the production. Music still skips, and the pictures jump up and down.

This is such a shame. I worked for many hours on a project for my husband's surprise 65th birthday party.

If anybody has pity and an answer for this, can you please give me a clue? Even though I'm no spring chicken, I'm still pretty good on a computer. I have an HP Pavillion with a DVD-RW 16X HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4166B Drive (I tried the update for this, and it wouldn't work - I the upate copied to a bland CD-r disc, but stopped there.

Thanks!!!!

Erica

Thanks!!

It sounds like the audio is skipping on playback of the burned disc, is that correct? If so, test playback in both your PC and a Set Top DVD Player (DVD player connected to TV) and see if you get different results.

Also experiment with different brands of recordable discs. Some discs of low quality have playback problems.

Thanks, John. I played the DVD on my TV DVD player, and also tried different recordable discs. The curious thing is that the music skipped at the same point each time when I was burning directly to disk, and after I burned to file and then burned the DVD using the copy program, it skips in more and different places. I can no longer burn directly from My DVD - it does all the preliminary stuff, and then doesn't burn to the DVD.

Thanks for trying to help!

Erica
