Cali Phil
Hi, I Bought 'easy cd dvd burner' in the red box. I bought it specificly so I could store data on a DVD. I could not store data (Documents and spreadsheets) on DVD but was able to download it to CD. I have a desktop, HP pavillion a832n 1 GB ram, Pent 4, 250 GB HD. 95% free space. Operating with Windows XP Home #2 After instalation of new software (Easy CD......), the computer became very slugish. I ran defrag, deleted temp internet files, got rid of cookies. I am tempted to uninstall. Anyone have any Ideas?
james_hardin
First order of business is to get you up and running… However, Memorex is mostly considered to be media salvaged from a dumpster. Likewise RW media is for temporary storage. Only use R media for any data you value. RW is fine for now though until we can get this running. Is there any error messages associated with your attempt to burn DVD's? Open Creator Classic and under Tools, run the Disc and Device Utility on your Burner and tell us what it says. What brand/type of DVD discs are you using? -R, -RW, +R, +RW, DL??

What brand/type of DVD discs are you using? -R, -RW, +R, +RW, DL?? Thanks for response! I am using Memorex brand DVD+RW. As far as make and model, its what was preinstalled in the CPU tower. "Light scribe Double layer 16X, DVD+- R/RW drive with CD writer capabilities" . Two drawers.
Larry
Thanks for response! I am using Memorex brand DVD+RW. As far as make and model, its what was preinstalled in the CPU tower. "Light scribe Double layer 16X, DVD+- R/RW drive with CD writer capabilities" . Two drawers. Two drawers? By that do you mean two disc drives? Two things to start with. First, check with HP to see if they have any firmware updates for your disc drive(s). Next, go to Start -> Control Panel -> System then select the Hardware tab then Device Manager. Expand the selection next to DVD/CD-ROM drives and post back exactly what it shows. One other question. What part of the suite are you using to try to burn data on the discs?
