Just for kicks I tried removing the voice from several of my audio files and the results were pretty poor at best. All of the audio files I used for my test had only a single voice as apposed to several.

After adjusting the slider in several different positions (from a low of 20% +- to 100%) Didn't prove any better.

(Personal opinion)

Thanks, Frank. I never had the need to use it, so I never looked for it. :) Might me the reason I did not remember any of the suites having that option. Either that, or it is just another senior moment. lol

Well don't feel like the Lone Ranger on that one Bruce. I have never used it either and as a matter of fact I didn't know it was an option in 10 until I read the original thread post and decided to look around. Now I guess I will have to try it and see how well it works. <_<

I have used Sound Editor, in all suites, quite a bit, so I am surprised that I never looked for it. I don't use Sound Editor for cleaning up audio, though, so that might explain my not seeing it.

I tried it also with 2 different songs and the results were pretty useless.

From the help file....

Devoicer: Lets you remove voice from music. This feature is most effective when removing a single voice. It may not be possible to remove highly produced and mixed vocals.

I wonder if the "may" should have been changed to "will"

There are other programs more specialized for that function. Dart has a program named Karaoke Studio and Gold Wave can reduce the voice. Both have trial software. I've used software from both companies (not Karaoke) and they seem to work well.
