Label Creator - No printer - no lightscribe.

Pepper

Question

In Label Creator 10, Lightscribe does not show up under File/Print/Printer:

With a lightscribe disk in the LG Super Multi Burner nothing shows up under HELP/Lightscribe Diagnostics.

I've tried several lightscribe discs with the same result.

Why would Lightscribe not be available in the Label creator? :(

Please help. :)

Not sure what type of optical drive you have, but first thing is you have to have a LightScribe compatible optical drive. Normally I click on the "Select Style" and then click on "LightScribe"---Design my l;abel and then click on "File--Print" from the menu.

Pardon all the spelling mistakes in the attachments

If your Super Multi Burner includes the LightScribe function, you have to install the withcome CD.

That CD should include the LgihtScribe driver, maybe bundled with a light version of Nero. After installing that even EMC would be able to use that driver.

If you don't want to install that, you can Download and install the LSS (LightScrib System Software) from:

http://www.lightscribe.com

That also allows EMC printing LightScribe. :)

On the light scribe site, there is a diagnosis program. Is that what you were referring to in your above post? I hesitate to ask but is your LG labeled a lightscribe capable - not all are?

The only thing I would like to make a comment on is that you can use any of the label styles. It does not have to be the lightscribe ones. Also lightscribe has many additional premade labels on their site (as well as a template labeler.)

Note that lightscribe frequently updates the drivers for the burners so checking that every once in awhile is a good idea.

Thanks all.

Indeed I needed the lightscribe driver from the LSS site.

Did a recent fresh install of Vista and didn't realize that I still hadn't installed this. :o:rolleyes::(

Glad you found the answer to your problem Pepper. And Check out the General chat forum by "cd" for a link to the new Lightscribe Template labeler program and new free templates.
