one DVD from more than one TS_video folder

Question

Hi,

I have non-copy protected DVD's that my client would like me to combine into one DVD since they are kind of short and having one DVD is just more convenient.

Can I do this in Toast 7? How?

Can I do this in Popcorn 1.0.1? How?

Each of the DVD's just has a TS_Video folder on it, nothing else.

Thanks,

Pete D.

Thanks for the quick reply.. Unfortunately the source discs are created on a consumer DVD/VHS deck straight out of a camera taking diagnostic footage of underground water and sewage lines. There are no titles, the disc is just finalized at the end of the "shoot". When I bring up the disc in the Toast Media Browser all I get is The name of the disc. When I drive down to the next level all I get is "untitled disc" and I can't drag that to the Video window. Does Popcorn 3 work for this situation?

Thanks,

Pete D.

You can do it with Toast but not with Popcorn until version 3.x. Open Toast and choose DVD video as the format in the Video window (do NOT choose DVD video from VIDEO_TS). Insert a source DVD. Choose DVD with the top button of the Toast Media Browser. In a couple seconds something will appear in the browser. Use the second button in the browser to access the titles level. Select the titles you want on your new DVD and drag them to the Video window. When Toast finishes extracting the videos eject the source DVD and insert another source DVD. Continue this until you have all the titles you want in the Video window.

Now set up the menu the way you want and burn your new video DVD.

I've done this many times with DVDs recorded on a standalone recorder. But when the disc gets finalized by the recorder it is given a name (either a default name or one entered by the user) and any video files become titles on the disc. Are you sure you have DVD selected with the top button of the media browser and chose DVD video as the format in the Video window? I can drag what first appears in the browser window to the video window and all titles on the disc are extracted.

Popcorn 3 does the same thing as Toast although it has a few special features. It wouldn't be different in this respect.
