Menu background image split and repeated

Lost in Cyberspace

Question

OK - I'm a real  newbie to Roxio EMC9. I picked it up to help my daughter build a DVD of her high school play. I've been able to build the movie, add stills, and lay in a soundtrak under the stills. Pretty easy! However, I'm at a loss on how to change the menu background to a still photo with a simple "Play" button on top.

I swapped out the forest scene with a promotional photo the kids used for their play. In preview and after burning, the image is sliced down the middle with the left half of the image repeated again on the right side. The buttons are also a mess - starting on the right side and wrapping around the screen to the left.

I imagine that this has something to do with menus and submenus, but after two days of fighting the software, I can't find the way around this problem.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Might be something with the hardware. What screen resolution are you using? How did you change the background image? Are you using MyDVD or something else (lite version). Try doing it this way if you haven't.

Tell us about the image that you are adding -- size and format.

Also put your computer hardware specs in your signature. Start with My Controls (top) and then edit signature.
