Roxio EMC9 only works with internet connection

Question

Hello I am having an issu that i understand had been posted before but the dates seemed to be old i was wondering if there has been a fix to this issue or not I have a brand new laptop running vista home premium and when i double click on the icon to start roxio emc9 suite I just get the error message roxio had stopped working .......... then i close that window and thats it. but thats while im not connected to the internet when i connect it works just fine....ODD...

This is something that has been reported only happening with some of the OEM supplied versions. It does not happen with any of the retail versions. Any "fix" would need to come from the supplier of the OEM version you have, which would be where you got the pc from (HP, Dell, etc...)

I bought it from best buy EMC9 that is there was no pre installed software from Roxio on my pc when i bought it could it have something to do wtih regestering it because i havent done that yet

I wouldn't think so, but it can't hurt to try that. I f that doesn't help, you could try a "clean install" following the appropriate KB article.

THANX I think this is my last hope to get this to work for something that everyone says this isnt supposed to happen with............lol

 

Make sure that you don't have any of the Roxio programs running at start up. If you do, disable them, and in XP, it is through msconfig. I don't know what you have to do with Vista, but other folks, who use Vista, will be able to tell you.

Thanks I'll make sure i do that i know how to get to msconfig..

 

OK everything seems to be working it sucessfully updated to EMC 9.1.075 but now the err message instead of coming up when i try to open the program now comes up when i close the program!!!!!
