Several problems, please help

Dear friends.

 

I am having several problems with MYDVD for Canon that I would appreciate if some you can give me some light about.

 

1) The program has been automatically installed in Japanese and my registration form appears in Spanish. Despite I have both languages in my Windows Language Bar I can not read Japanese (it is not only that I am not capable of reading Japanese, it is also that the system is in English and some characters appear just like ???????) How can I change the language in MyDVD to English?

 

2) Every time I open the MyDVD program, it asks me to register it. Despite the fact that I have registered more it than 20 times and that the program accepts the registration as successful, it asks me to register again and again

 

3) More importantly, when I manage to enter the program and I click on Open Disk, the program always hangs right before finishing the process of importing the movie from the DVD to the HD. Actually I have not been able to see a single movie after I bought the product.

I assume you got the program with a camcorder. That program is an OEM software specified and modified by Canon and is quite limited. Canon would support that software so it would be better to contact them. They will tell you that they don't support the software but press them on it.

 

You could do a Windows> Control Panel > Add or Remove programs > repair to see if that will help. If you have a program disc, I would suggest that you remove the program and reinstall it.

 

Make sure you do not have your anti-virus or any other program running when you do that. Take your time and read all the screens that open.
