Edit exposure in video clips

jroc

Question

I'm working on a slideshow for my granddaughters from photos and digital camera video clips they took at a Hannah Montana concert. Two of the video clips are VERY dark. Is there any way to edit the exposure on such video clips as to make them viewable? Thanks.

Yes, right click the clip in VideoWave and adjust it…

Of course if it is too dark, black will remain black even if you lighten it.

As far as I can see, if I right click on the clip in Storyline the drop down menu doesn't offer choices for editing video exposure. Nor does right clicking on the clip in the Preview panel. Am I missing something?

Use the Brightness slider which is above the preview window (along with the saturation, contrast etc icons)

Perfect! The clips are now at least viewable and the darkness now actually adds to the effect. These clips were at the end of the concert when they were all yelling and screaming and this worked out perfectly. Thanks. :D
