How do I rip cd's from a Sony 300 disc cd changer

giorgio

Question

A while back I found a topic on how to rip cd's from a sony 300 disc changer, so insted of putting in 300 cd's 1 at a time you could load in 300 discs and let them rip. Now I can't find topic!

I'm using Easy media creator 10 & Windows media player and I have 900 or so cds to rip so I hope someone can help me with this.

Thanks much.

Giorgio

Thanks sknis. info. I don't remember if I saw the info on a Media center, Media player or Roxio site. I do have a trig of storage but have used about a 3ed of that storing movies. I have been using WMA and MP3 format to store music. I thought it would be more compatible with MP3/Ipod players and alike. Is that not the case?

By the way, do you know the comand you enter at Start-Run to get the specs of your computer??

Thanks for your help.

Giorgio

If you are storing only for mp3 players, then mp3 is OK if you ever want to just burn to a audio CD or to a music DVD, than you may notice the loss of quality. Some people will; others will not.

Download and run Belarc Advisor. It is a free tool that will tell you almost everything you want to know about your computer and the installed programs.

I don't remember that post. Multi-Cd ripper will do as many at a time that you have hard drives. If you have the normal 2 plus perhaps an external, that would cut the job by one third but it will still be a manual process.

You can always connect the player to your computer's sound card and capture. If you start now, it would only take about 15 hours.

I hope you have a large hard drive if you are going to rip/capture to wav (best) format. Capturing other formats will give you some loss of quality because of compression.

Perhaps our resident music will have a better idea but I haven't seen him post in awhile.
