multiple movies

Question

I have home movies that vary in size from 500-800 mb and all are about an hour and a half long. Every time I go to burn one of these movies one of them takes up the whole DVD. My question is how can I fit more than one of these movies on to a 4.3gb DVD. I am running emc 10 and I am open to suggestion. I also not all that concerned with quality.

thank you

In order for a DVD to play on standard dvd players, the files have to be made DVD Compliant and are large. Taking 500-800mb files that are obviously compressed and encoding to a dvd takes time and space. In video, time matters most.

If you're player can also play data discs (divx, etc) you could simply copy the home movies to a dvd and fit much more on them.

A 4.7gb DVD holds about 1 hour at best quality. Any more than that and you do so at the lose of video quality…

You can put up to 2 hours on one in MyDVD using the Fit to Disc setting.

You can put more on by using HQ setting and burning to a Folder Set instead of the actual disc.

Then use Copy & Convert to burn the Folder Set to disc. It has a better compression algorithm and will do the best it can.

I do recommend that you use some RW media to play with to make sure the degraded results are going to be acceptable to your eye.

Where is the "copy and convert" feature? I can't find it...
