Codec(s) MPEG-2 Error message

teachie

Question

Everytime I try to create DVD or burn one to a DVD I get the codec(s) MPEG-2 file missing message. When I click OK iI get No Permission-Bad insatll message. It came pre-loaded with Dell computer. The Dell techie told me it was software issue after he tried to fix it for me. What gives? We even did an Uninstall/Re-Install.

After v9 is installed, the mpeg codec has to be activated. Sometimes something interferes with this activation you're not able to use mpeg files until it is activated. You need to follow the Clean Install instructions

XP Clean Install

Vista Clean Install

and then when you reinstall, turn off any internet security, virus scanners and firewalls and then install and let it activate the mpeg. Once done you can turn on the security, firewall and virus programs.
