Easy Media Creator 7.5 Video Wave

appolew

Question

When I use Easy Media Creator 7.5 and click on the Video Edit function to get into video wave the program feature never opens up. It used to and I made quite a few videos. Now it will not open up. All I can do is capture vides, but not edit them. How can I correct this problem short of re-loading the program from scratch.

I have IE6 and Windows Explorer

Did you install IE7 or WMP11 (or let Windows Update do it)?

If so, roll back to IE6 and WMP9 or 10

I have Internet Explorer 6 and Windows XP

OK - and Media Player 10?

What sort of video clips are you using and where did they come from?

It's possible that you have missing codecs or they are protected in some way (Tivo has started to do that with some of their stuff)

I am capturing video off a digital cam corder. Through my computer and using Roxio Media Creator 7.5 I will capture clips off the digital tape as I view it. In the past I was then able to edit the video by arranging the clips in a particular order and adding transitions between clips, etc. I would then be able to group these clips into a saved production. The ability to open this portion (VideoWave) of Media Creator is not functional or will not open up when I double click on it. The functions Edit Video, Auto Edit with CineMagic, and Guided edit with StoryBuilder will open up. The only function under Video that operates properly is Capture video. I may be repeating myself, I just want to make sure you know what steps I was taking and what features I was trying to use, but not able to.

Error: I meant to say "will NOT open up" in my next to last sentence. Sorry.

What version of Windows Media Player do you have?

Click on the Roxio desktop icon, then click on VideoWave. If it doesn't open, you need to do a Repair, through Add/Remove Programs by clicking on the Change button and following the prompts.

Something as simple as defreagmenting your hard drive might help. Just how much space do you have on your hard drive?

Also, you might want to try disabling your pop up blockers. It's not a common problem, but occasionally one of them will cause problems.

Have you done anything else (added a new program, changed hardware, etc.) since it last worked?
