AC3 problem

I recently installed EMC 10 and tried to convert some CD's to AC3 format. It doesn't work. The output file is 0 Kb and can't be played. I had EMC 8 before and it worked fine converting CD's to AC3 then. Can anybody help?

Exactly how are you converting? I used Sound Editor and had no trouble exporting. I also used Music Disc Converter and had no problems. It's a stupid question but are you sure you have the AC3 codec installed?

Apparently it was a codec problem. Since everything worked in EMC 8 I had no reason to believe that the codec had been removed, but it seemed that was the case. I downloaded the codec and now everything works again.

Did you uninstall v8? I'm not sure if uninstalling would have removed the codec but I guess it's possible. I've removed many versions of EMC and reinstalled and never had to reinstall the AC3 codec. But, I'm glad you're up and running.
