Fade in / out with audio tracks in videowave

notj

Question

When working in video wave and importing .mp3's into the audio track, there is automatically a small fade in / out applied to the mp3's beginning and end. Even when I go in and try to edit / trim the mp3, it adds the small, but noticible, fade to the trimmed mp3.

I even unchecked the Fade in and fade out boxes in the audio editor. The least amount of fade I can get is .10 seconds. Does anyone know how to make it 0.0 secs fade in or out?

Thanks.

Don't think you can but you can hide it by adding your audio files to two different audio tracks and letting them overlap for the 0.1 seconds. It should not matter with the first track. Roxio may have put in the slit fade so that the audio volume of the second doesn't add to the audio volume of the first to produce a very loud sound for the .1 second -- just speculation of course.

Thanks for the reply.

It's going to be kinda tough to do cause some vocals I will have to go back and add whatever the fade in time in is to mp3's to "hit the post" so they start at max volume instead of the short fade.

Anybody have any other ideas??

OK, this is going to be harder. Use sound editor to make a mix of all the tracks you want. Make sure you cut out all the natural fade ins and outs. Export the mix. Add the mix to Video Wave. You will probably have to re-time the display time of the images and transitions. You'll only have that small fade in at the beginning but program will not know when the music changes.

If you go to timeline mode, you should be able to move the dots with your cursor and make the fade "inactive" by setting to zero, on the middle line of audio wave image.

I have tried to move the dots, but can't get them out to the end of the audio clip (or beginning), there is still that skight fade.

...and thanks for the idea of making one audio clip, it'll work, but I'd rather not do it that way because I like to be able to manipulate the positioning and timing of the individual clips.

thanks for the replys.
