Burned DVDs Sputter/halt 5 seconds after playing a chapter

carol_m

Question

 I just bought EMC10 running on Vista, a new computer we just bought, and this software is driving me mad. You see, I can burn a DVD with chapters and it will play fine on the computer, but when I put the dvd in my standalone tv dvd player, if i select a chapter to watch, the picture freezes and and the audio makes a sputtering noise like only 5 or so seconds after selecting the chapter. Please help! thanks!

Since the DVD plays fine on your computer then there is basically nothing wrong with the burn. The problem may be some incompatabilty between the media make your are using and your DVD player. Not every player "likes" every DVD makers media. You could try using the DVD that your player recommends or try some other manufacturere.

I found out the problem was that my standalone dvd player is just too old. i tried my newly burned dvd on a newer dvd player and had no problems. thanks for the advice
