Can't believe I did it again!

dadof4

Question

Upgraded from Media Creator 7.5 to 10. Many of my video files (mpg and tp) produce only static for audio in Videowave. All of the problem files play fine in WMP, VLC player and Cineplayer. Any suggestions. I'm stumped.

Now -- why can't I believe I did it again? After so much fustration with Ver. 7.5 I actually thought Ver. 10 might have the problems corrected. The the first two files I open are problematic. Unbelievable!

Should I just get a refund?

If you had problems with EMC 7.5, then your computer sure isn't going to work with EMC 10. Unbelievable!

Ask for a refund.

I was able to correct the problem. I changed the settings for the Cineplayer DVD Decoder (Control Panel / Cineplayer DVD Coder Options - Audio Tab). I unchecked "Use System Settings", and set "Audio output" to 2 Speaker (Stereo).

Regarding your reply grandpabruce. Your level of sarcasm exceeds by far your ability to assist.

Not true. I have assisted many folks.

He helped me, personally. You can probably still find my rants. He also listened to me vent, mostly about the "trial version has expired" bug. Believe me, you'll feel better with a refund if the software doesn't work. Just be sure to delete the old files since you will no longer have a license.

PS: Does anybody know if the ver. 10 software has the same issue with Norton registry products? I can tell you that:

1) when it was running, ver 9 was great.

2) when it kept uninstalling and referring to the trial version having expired, roxio gave me a refund, no questions asked, from online purchase of the FULL version.

3) my major issue stemming from the bug was the long time needed for each reinstall. It is a BIG program, and requires LOTS of install time.

Given their willingness to refund (and fair speed in doing so), I can forgive their product issues. I was out of pocket only a not inconsiderable amount of time, but no money, and little administrative rigamarole.

Still, if the "Trial version has expired" bug still exists -- I'll wait for version 11. Does anybody know if it (the "trial version" bug) is still around in version 10?

Thank you for your assistance. Given your logic any user having problems in different versions must be having an issue with their PC even if the problem are not related. It surely could not be the fault of the software. Thank you for enlightening me.
