Purple Stripe on Imported Movie

JoeMaio

Question

I am new to EMC10. I am trying to copy some old home movies from a DVD-R to give copies to some family members. Each time, the imported copy in myDVD has a purple stripe running down the left side of the video. It runs the entire length of the video. It is not in the original. I have tried several times and it happens each time. I also tried using the video capture mode outside of myDVD and the same thing happened. Any ideas how to prevent this or remove it? I also want to trim the movie to get rid of some junk and make it fit on a DVD+R, so a simple disc copy won't work for me.

Thanks.

Turn on the TV safe zone outline in either VideoWave or MyDVD (if that is all you have). The icon looks like a squared off target. If the stripe is in the dotted area, it won't show; but of course nothing else in the dotted area will either.)

If the program is cutting off too much of the video, add the video as an overlay to a color panel of the same length in VideoWave. You can adjust the size of the overlay to get rid of the purple stripe by sizing the video to just get that stripe into the TV safe zone.

Clean the heads on your video camera.

Thanks. I'll try that.
