Convert to Divx

Having recently upgraded from EMC 9 to 10 I find that I still have cannot convert video files to divx. I am using the Video Conveter application (I have also tried the Divx DVD app). In each case the conversion process starts but within a couple of minutes the application just closes without warning. A divx file is created and plays, but obviously it is only short.

 

I experienced the same issue with EMC 9 and was hoping it would be fixed in version 10, but not so. Advice appreciated.

If EMC 9 didn't work and now EMC 10 doesn't work, don't you think the problem might me in the source files you are trying to feed it!?!

Hey, I'm looking for some help, not a patronising attitude, Digital Guru.

 

There's nothing wrong with the source files, they play perfectly and I can use them with other applications problem-free.

 

A quick review of these forums shows LOTS of people experience difficulty with Divx and other video conversions using EMC in its various versions. It's just I haven't seem my particular issue covered and I was wondering if other EMC users had some ideas on where to start.
