I need some serious help. I downloaded Creator 10 and was able to install (after some initial difficulties). About a week later (after some fairly successful use of the suite) I had a fatal error/missing files/etc. that required I uninstall the program and try to reinstall. That is when all the problems started. I continually (after 10 days of cleaning, multiple suggestions from customer support and reading this forum) get an "Easy Media Creator 10 installation was interrupted. Please try to install again later" error message. The installation proceeds through audio, copy, core, data, tools, mediashare and update manager, always rolling back after that.
I have followed all of the cleaning instructions -- deleted Sonic/Roxio remnant folders, stopped services, cleaned the registry, used windows install clean-up to remove recommended apps, created a new user (I am running on a Dell XPS), turned off all antivirus programs... all with the same results -- a failed install. Doing a system restore had not worked either but I will try that again tonight.
I was able to install it on a laptop and another deskside (neither of which is where I ultimately need to run this thing), so I know the code I downloaded is fine. It is something with this particular machine that was trashed after the first install crashed, and I CAN NOT FIND IT.
Again, I have been through the forum suggestions, those from customer support, and anything else I could think of. Now I need some more thinking on the problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I am "all ears". I only have a matter of days before my 30 days are up and I have to decide if I give up in time to get a refund. This has been extremely frustrating.
