editing problem with Roxio 10

Joe Romiti

Question

"videowave". After transporting photo's into "videowave" the production area at the bottom displays a proper photo. However, when you highlight the photo to bring up into the editing area it is not displayed properly. The photo appears shrunk down, stretched out - and only the left portion of the picture appears (it looks like only half of original photo appears. Also, if you want to add text the same thing happens with the text. this renders the editing process impossible to use. The interesting thing about this problem is if I try to create a VCD, I am able to and the result is like you would want it to be. Another similar scanirio of the same result is if I go directly to MYDVD. the theater is displayed in half - only the left side of the theater appears on the screen. If you select "preview" the screen display is correct but, after about 1 second it reverts back to the distorted image.

To date: I have reinstalled Roxio 10 a dozen times.

used different uninstall packages to insure proper uninstallation before reinstalling Roxio 10.

updated my NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS at least two times

worked with Dell, Roxio, NVIDIA and Samsung all as a result of fingerpointing from all parties.

Changed Resolution; refresh rates; monitor sizing everything I could think of having to do with

graphics.

the latest was Roxio blaming Samsung (I have a 22" monitor) for the problem. I replaced the Samsung with another monitor but, the problem remained the same.

I worked extensively with Dell (even giving them control of my system), They ruled out the Graphic Video card NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS. But, they have not ruled out my operating system which is Vista Premium. They do not think however, the problem is in the operating system but, with the Roxio 10 program.

Is you DPI set to 96?

Seeing the same problem as above. Hope Roxi support monitors these forums as I am currently unable to contact them direct, as my just registered account will not allow me to log in to any of the support response sections.

Which DPI Setting are you referring to? I would doubt that Vista's font size scaling has anything to do with this.

Unfortunately this seems to be the only topic that mentions this problem and there does not seem to be any resolution to this posted anywhere.

You dragged up a 7 month old thread that the OP never came back and responded.

Go to your Display settings, and see what your DPI setting is. If it isn't set at 96 DIP, Roxio programs won't display properly.

There have been many folks, over the years, who have had the problem with their DPI setting being higher than 96, and have experienced display problems. When they set it back to 96 DIP, their problem went away.

Don't doubt what you know nothing about, especially since you haven't looked.:blink::blink:

Since you said you have the same problem, what resolution is your Samsung 22" monitor set to?
