Missing Utilities

I have EMC10 Suite. On page 33 in the User Guide that came in the box, it says that Dvd Info Pro and Mobile Phone Doctor are included. They are not listed when I open EMC10 Suite. Are they part of one of the other programs?

To get DVD Info Pro, open the Home App, click on the Tools tab then click on 'Do More'.

Not sure about the Phone Doctor.....haven't even looked myself.

I copied the DVD Info Pro Folder to the C:\Program Files\Roxio folder from the C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy Media Creator 7 folder. I ran your reg. file and got the Do More Button, but it doesn't do anything.

 

This is what was in your reg. file:

I don't know the first thing about creating a reg. file, but when I look at the Path it looks like there should be a DVDInfroPro folder inside a DVD Info Pro folder.

 

Is that why I don't get any action when I click the Do More Button?

 

Mine is located at:

 

C:\Program Files\Roxio\DVDInfo Pro

 

As I said, you may need to alter the .reg file, so that the path to DVD Info Pro is how you have it.

Easiest way is to edit tthe registry: click start, run, type regedit, click OK or press enter.

In the Registry Editor window that opens, in the left pane (tree like structure) click on the +es to expand the branch below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\DVDInfo.exe

 

So click on the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

click on + next to SOFTWARE

 

etc, until you get to DVDInfo.exe. Left click on that key (folder icon) to show its contents in the right pane.

In the right pane, click on the Default value, click Modify, in the box that opens type the full path to dvdinfo.exe, click OK

Right click on the Path value, click mofify, type in the folder path to where the dvdindo.exe file is (without the file name itself), click OK.

 

Close the registry, see if now DVDinfo pro opens when you click do more button.

There's also a trial version available here.

The trial Version doesn't have all of the features of the Full Version, and I suspect that may be one of the items not included

Mobile Photo Doctor is part of the Media Manager Application. Go to this page and click on the Demo Video. When it opens, click the Mobile tab and watch the video; it gives you the broad overview but no details.

 

From what I see, you have to connect your phone and then make a profile for it. You can then crop the photos to fit. Go here to see more information

If you have the retail or downloaded version and do not have this feature, try a modify install and make sure you have chosen to install it. Walt, it just opens up DVD Info Pro. I have to highlight or choose 'Disc Information' under 'Tools' for the Do More option to show up. If I choose any other function under Tools, it DOES NOT show up.

Yes, I've used it. But the trial ran out.

Using it twice within the trial period (and endeavouring to get as much use out of it as possible in that time) didn't suggest I'd use it enough to pay up.

I'm not sure why you and others don't have this option. I'll just reiterate that it might be something set in the original install and that you also have to click on Disc Information for the Do More to show up. Other than that I've no idea why it doesn't show.

Version 9 DVDInfo Pro is a out date version 4.15, current free version is DVDInfoPro 4.76. The Drive Supported features don't list LightScribe, LabelFlash, Layer Jump Recording, BD, HD, and a whole bunch of other important info missing.

 

That is why I pointed you to the free and excellent CDDVDSpeed, and Nero InfoTool program, I use here..

 

Oh, I have actually downloaded, installed and used the above programs I spoke about! Try it you'll like it...

Sorry I did not reply to your other post sooner. I have been trying some fixes for this and other Roxio and other computer issues on this computer and my other computer. I have the Nero InfoTool with my Nero Ultra 7.

 

I just wanted to get everything working in my Roxio programs.

After a few tweaks the Do More Button now works.

As I recall, DVD Info Pro is not included in v10. If one had an earlier version (like v8 or v9) that included it, and did not uninstall the older version, that's when the "Do More" button will show up, as it will recognize the DVD Info Pro program from the earlier version.

I'm with Larry on this, although I believe Jean Rosenfeld is the expert.

 

EMC 10 seems to be set up to show DVDInfo Pro if it is present, but at some stage before relase the sales people decided to "simplify" things and remove DVDInfo Pro. (saves them having to pay for it)

 

It will still show "More" if the program is there from an earlier version.

Note: For Windows NT/2000 and XP an ASPI manager is highly recommended.

The Nero ASPI manager has been tested extensively and supports all interfaces.

To install just copy this file to the installation directory of the program.

If you have Nero installed you do not need this!

I have experienced a NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION (000000) error in version 4.7.7.5 scanning Verbatim DL +R disc's! I re-scan the same disc with earlier version's like 4.7.7.3 and the bug does not show it's head.

DVD info pro does not come with EMC 10, but EMC 10 will recognise it and show the Do More button, if you have the DVD Info Pro that camewith EMC 9

 

If you have EMC 9, but don't want to install it pernmanently, this is the workaround:

 

1 Install EMC 9.

2. Copy the folder C:\Program Files\Roxio\DVD Info Pro and its contents to some suitable place.

3. Uninstall EMC 9

4. Put the DVD Info Pro folder back into C:\Program Files\Roxio

5. download attached zip, extract the .reg file and double click on it to put the required registry keys into your registry.

 

Now EMC 10 will see the DVD info Pro and show the Do More button

 

I don't have 7.5, but I should think an analogous method should work, though the reg keys would need suitable modification.

I have ver. 7.5. I can use Dvd Info. Pro from there, but ver. 10 does not see DIP from 7.5. I have another problem listed in the Error section of this forum and I might need to do the Clean Install routine. That means I will have to remove 7.5.
