Kenkidd
Hi, Newcomer here. Have just moved to Creator 9 from 7.5 and have noticed that this version does not seem to have the Drag-To-Disc feature. Have I missed it in my search through the features or did they not include it? It made life so much simpler having always on top.
tbrewst
V9 does have that feature. It's not the best thing for making discs but it is available. There could be OEM versions that don't contain it but the retail versions should have it. When running the initial installation it is included automatically. The only way to get rid of it is to use Add/Remove from the control panel. gi7omy
Are you sure that it's EMC 9 you have? D2D installed automatically in 9 and there is a large icon at the bottom right It is NOT included in EMC 10 (which is why I ask)
Rwillie
Came to the forum for first time looking for same issue as KenKidd! Installed Creator 9 Suite and have not been able to find the Drag to Disk??? Couple responses says it is there but have looked it over again and am not finding it? Bought full retail version (says build 9.0.088) Have been a previous user of Roxio products back to version 5.0 and had found the Drag to Disk convenient. Any other places to find it in Version 9.0? Tried to re-install it thinking I had missed it during install but no luck.
james_hardin
You just are not looking because you cannot install EMC 9 without Drag to Disc being installed! If you don't want it, you get it anyway and have to uninstall it separately. Its' actual name is "DrgToDsc.exe"…

You are right in that all the files .msi and .exe are there, but they are not being loaded during Setup! If you click the exe file then installer starts and then a message "Please run setup". Do that and check Modify and Drag to Disc is NOT listed. Run Repair and it is still not loaded. Uninstall and run Setup again, still no Drag to Disc. Ken Then you do not have the Retail version of EMC 9 or the 'Red Box' version as both of these have D2D… Cannot speak to the OEM versions as none of us have any listing as to what comes with them. Did you have any other packet writing software on your hard drive? Look in Windows Installer Clean Up utility program and see if it is listed there. It should be listed with a version paren after it. Perhaps the old copy didn't completely uninstall so now the install of the new version can't proceed. Uninstall it (both if you have more than one) and then try to reinstall it. I assume that you are both running XP and not Vista. Vista has its own packet writing application.
Larry
Question to both Kenkidd and Rwillie, what operating system are you running? If it's W2K, that could be why it's not installing. The Drag to Disc in v9 is not compatible with that OS.
